
Mining Superintendent - Edna May
RUC Mining are seeking an experienced Mining Superintendent on a 8/6 DIDO roster to join our passionate team of highly skilled people for, the Edna May project.
BIBO/DIDO roster at Edna May underground gold mine which is located in Westonia, WA. Just over 4 hours drive from Perth.
About the role
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will ensure budgets and targets are achieved and mine planning activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure that underground contractor activities are consistent with company standards including safety, housekeeping, workspace organisation and waste management standards as defined by the Project Manager.
- Attend and contribute to pre-shift meetings, toolbox meetings, weekly safety meetings, communication meetings, incident investigations and client required meetings.
- Comply with all relevant Legislation, Codes of Practice, RUC instructions, policies, procedures, specifications and practices.
- Ensure that underground performance meets weekly and daily plans, whilst also maintaining quality standards as defined by the Project Manager.
- Flag major or potential operational gaps to the Project Manager including likely/actual performance shortfalls, skills or personnel gaps, and process/policy breaches. These should be accompanied with recommended courses of action.
- Coordinate the underground Shift Supervisors, mining team rosters, manpower numbers and staff to ensure that monthly, weekly and daily schedules can be achieved.
- Actively drive a safe, high performance and professional work culture with the Project Manager.
- Support the Project Manager in the implementation of a 3-month plan for underground mining operations.
- Attend and contribute to monthly, weekly and daily schedules for the underground operations.
Skills and Experience
- WA Shift Supervisor's Certificate
- C Class Drivers Licence
- A strong background in running and managing underground mining operations
- Proven safety management performance in a mining operation
- Word processing and spread sheeting skills
- Initiative and strong problem solving and communication skills
