RUC is a diversified underground contractor with an extensive portfolio of Development, Production, Construction, Shaft Sinking, and Raise boring projects throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific.About the Role The Underground Construction Superintendent is responsible on a day-to-day basis, for the safety, quality, and productivity of PTRUCCI’s underground construction team at the Grasberg Block Cave Mine in Freeport, Indonesia. The scope of work the Construction Superintendent is responsible for but not limited to âCivil and structural projects as part of the underground train loading (chute) systemManagement/coordination of daily maintenance activities of train loading chutesAncillary projects as directed by the client’s project team The Superintendent reports to the Construction Manager and has civil, structural/mechanical, electrical, and maintenance supervisors as direct reports.You will be responsible for taking ownership of the project delivery and building on our strong client relationships onsite. The successful candidate will have an assigned national counterpart to mentor and will facilitate the ongoing upskilling of our national workforce.As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following;Maintain productive relationships, clearly communicating with construction crews, client & company management, and other stakeholdersPlan, manage and lead the underground construction teams, ensuring safety management, quality compliance, resource efficiency, and reporting requirementsSafety leadership including management and review of SOPs, toolbox, and daily prestart meetings. Reporting, monitoring, and management of workplace hazards, risks, issues, and incidentsManaging construction crews in the delivery of the project scopePlanning day-to-day, weekly, and roster manning requirements, and recruitment of national and ex-pat workforces.
